Kyle from Waltham Has Been the Story of the Postseason

Kyle from Waltham

Kyle Schwarber is from Middletown, Ohio, but to the people of Massachusetts, he is Kyle from Waltham. Schwarber may be one of Boston’s most prominent stars since coming over at the deadline, but he is really just a kid from Waltham who made it big, according to Barstool’s Jared Carrabis.

Carrabis gave Schwarber the nickname ‘Kyle from Waltham’ on his Section 10 podcast that he hosts with Coley Mick and Steve Perault. The nickname has been known amongst podcast listeners throughout the postseason, but it became national news following Schwarber’s decision to sport a Waltham Hawks shirt in Monday’s postgame presser.

Carrabis started the Kyle from Waltham movement, and it appears like it could extend well beyond the 2021 postseason.

Just a Kid from Waltham

Waltham is ten miles outside of Fenway Park, where Schwarber has delivered many clutch hits since coming from Washington at the trade deadline. Since Carrabis started the gimmick, the city of Waltham has adopted Schwarber as one of their own.

Waltham’s Wikipedia page lists Schwarber as a notable resident, the high school baseball program has given him gear, and the local Boys & Girls Club sent the new town native a good luck message ahead of game four.

Kyle from Waltham is no longer a running joke from Barstool’s Jared Carrabis. It’s a movement that has invigorated life into Schwarber and the Boston Red Sox.

Kyle from Waltham

Schwarber has been received well by Waltham, but he is also returning the favor. Schwarber wore a Barstool-designed Waltham Hawks shirt after game three of the American League Championship Series and was asked about it by reporters.

His response was classic.

“I think the first time I saw it was either Carrabis or MLB posted something, and then everyone asked me: ‘What’s Kyle from Waltham. I’m like, ‘Uh, what. I’m from Middletown, Ohio.’ But I guess my hometown is Waltham now, so go Hawks!”

Kyle from Waltham is Clutch

Schwarber is now a Waltham native, and he has made his city proud in the 2021 postseason. He is currently batting .250 with three homers, nine RBIs, and five walks.

Kyle Schwarber Has Local Community Loving 'Kyle From Waltham' Shtick

Schwarber’s presence at the top of the lineup has put Boston in a position to win the American League. Although, they need two more victories in the ALCS before this conversation can occur.

The series between Houston and Boston is currently tied 2-2 with the final game at Fenway Park scheduled for 5:08 PM ET on Wednesday. The series will resume in Houston on Friday, and the loser of Wednesday’s game will be facing elimination.
